When taxi operator Sipho Khanyi first heard of the Rea Vaya bus rapid transit (BRT) system, he was agn anist it. "When the was introduced to us, we wavent used to it , "khanyi explained yesterday ."If you take my taxi away from me , how will get paid?" And yet , It was one of Kanyi's taxis that was the first to scrapped yesterday to mark BRT milestone:66.7 percent majority ownership snd management of phase 1A of the Rea Vaya system by former taxi operators.
