Rosinah Mosia came to the demonstration armed with a pair of scissors. The scissors have a big orange handle and long, slightly rusty blades. Normally she uses them to cut wool for her knitting. But now that she is involved in her first strike, the cleaning industry strike, they are a weapon.
“I can snip (the rat’s) hair with these… these days hair is very important,” says Mosia, 37, earnestly. But she has been in the strike for over a week, and she is yet to cut a “rat’s” or non-striker’s hair.
