‘Cable thief’ fighting for his life
A man was severely burnt while apparently attempting to steal cable from a transformer box near the Unitas hospital in Pretoria, paramedics said on Friday.
“The man sustained severe burns to his legs and pelvis and is fighting for his life in the Kalafong hospital,” said Netcare911
spokesman Jeff Wicks in a statement.
Wicks said it appeared the man made contact with high voltage live wires in the transformer box, causing the current to pass through his body.
