Prison officials held for drug lab

Six people, including two prison officials, have been arrested after they were linked to a drug laboratory in Tarlton, outside Krugersdorp, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
Lieutenant-Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said police found the drug Cat, and chemicals used in its manufacture, at a Tarlton smallholding. The haul's street value was worth about R1 million.
The two correctional services officials were dog unit handlers at the Krugersdorp Prison.
Earlier, three drug dealers, aged between 21 and 49, were arrested in Eldorado Park on Wednesday for possession of drugs and dealing in dagga worth R2 000.
These three pointed the police to the drug laboratory in Tarlton, where three more people, including the two correctional services officers, were arrested.
The plot belongs to one of the prisons officials.
