Rand strength wards food prices hikes

Fear of riots across globe as costs rise
Food prices in South Africa are set to rise this year as prices of soft commodoties hit record levels last year and crude oil heads towards $100 (R681) a barrel, but South Africa will be partly shielded from higher global food prices by the stronger rand.
