SANDF chartered plane expenses soar
The DA has called for a parliamentary hearing into the SA National Defence Force's use of chartered planes to fly presidents, ex-presidents,ministers and other officials around the country, continent and world.
This comes after Defence and Military Veterans Minister Lindiwe Sisulu disclosed that the cost of flights "chartered" by the SANDF for VIP travel had risen steeply, from R3.6 million in 2009 to R16.9m in 2010.
