Now it's lights out for Khulubuse Zuma miners
AngloGold Ashanti switched off the power after its liquidators and preferred buyer, Aurora Empowerment Systems, failed to pay the electricity bill of just under R50-million. AngloGold Ashanti has been reportedly supplying electricity to Orkney since the liquidation of its former owners in 2009. Aurora, whose chairman is President Jacob Zuma's nephew, Khulubuse Zuma, has been struggling to get finance for the acquisition and maintenance of the mines.
Miners at Orkney and Grootvlei mine in Gauteng, which also falls under the Aurora stable, are owed millions in unpaid salaries .

And i was going to take out shares in Ashanti Gold ------ oh oh, saved myself some money. Hope the miners get paid soon; must be a nightmare for them and their families not getting slaries..... what a shame.
ReplyDeleteI am staying impartial through this process, but all I can say is life is hard enough with a salary, can't imagine how dreadful it must be without one.
