24th April 2011

Sunday, Easter Sunday...the day started with an easter egg hunt around the house, with the grand easter prize being a fluffy ducky hot microwaveble aromatherapy thingy.  This has been named Carlos, after the villian ducky in the movie Hop, that I was dragged to. I am now being tortured by the Carte Blanche special on Kate and William, think its more totureous than Hop.  I don't do royals, I was with the French on how to deal with monarchy... but I am in such a great mood lately, none of this is actually bothering me...

Todays story..

Now it's lights out for Khulubuse Zuma miners

AngloGold Ashanti switched off the power after its liquidators and preferred buyer, Aurora Empowerment Systems, failed to pay the electricity bill of just under R50-million. AngloGold Ashanti has been reportedly supplying electricity to Orkney since the liquidation of its former owners in 2009.
Aurora, whose chairman is President Jacob Zuma's nephew, Khulubuse Zuma, has been struggling to get finance for the acquisition and maintenance of the mines.
Miners at Orkney and Grootvlei mine in Gauteng, which also falls under the Aurora stable, are owed millions in unpaid salaries .

  1. And i was going to take out shares in Ashanti Gold ------ oh oh, saved myself some money. Hope the miners get paid soon; must be a nightmare for them and their families not getting slaries..... what a shame.

  2. I am staying impartial through this process, but all I can say is life is hard enough with a salary, can't imagine how dreadful it must be without one.
