New month, new story?

Shoot-out in Joburg CBD

On a day of death, drama and mayhem, a man in two-tone takkies didn’t try to hide the firearm in his belt as the metro police officer spoke to him through the window.
Moments later, the officer was clutching his bleeding shoulder while police and metro police colleagues led a deadly chase through city streets in pursuit of a gang.
The metro officer, Bheki Tshabalala, 30, wanted to know whether the gun was legal. An argument between him and the gun-toting man ensued. A shot rang out.
Tshabalala collapsed on Main Road, Fordsburg, in front of the entrance to a bus depot, close to the corner with Henry Nxumalo Street.
Meanwhile, in Windmill Park, Boksburg, three young men died at the scene when killers opened fire with an assault rifle, shotgun and a 9mm pistol in a tuckshop. Nothing was stolen and there were no witnesses, said police.
